5 Steps of the Design Process

Step 1: Collect Information

Before beginning anything, I just need to know exactly what is my client's requirements and necessities are. The best way to do a face-to-face meeting with them is if they are within a similar area. We are also available for Virtual or Online Meetings.  After collecting all the information We can start off them such as asking project-related questions, taking notes and most importantly knowing their goals or objectives.

Step 2: Research

By now, I have a clear idea of what clients want to look for in order to satisfy their goals or objectives.

Here are a couple of things to look at:

• Market trends
• Competitors
• Designs, colors, and textures
• Product or service evaluation

This research step through requires much time and effort, remember that it is always worth it in the long run.

Step 3: Build a Plan

Begin by creating a schedule where you list all the essential steps which will support you to accomplish your objective. By this I mean to consider all that you have looked into and from that point on, you can build up a plan.

Never fail to get approval from your client, since they will be by your side every step of the way. In case of disapproval, work together to achieve a common agreement.

Step 4: Build Design Concepts and Represent

Creating your design ideas on your previously developed plan, you can now start to use your creativity as a designer! It may be the most exciting and innovative step in the graphic design process.

1. Develop a couple of drafts
2. Retain only a few to further develop
3. Explain why you decided to retain the chosen drafts
4. Evaluate with the customer
5. Make adjustments and existing final design

Step 5: Production & Completion

When your final design is ready, then you can start production, regardless of whether it is as press, web, or media. Always feel glad for the end of the process and identify your activities of a positive result with your customer. The diligent work pays off!

FINAL NOTE

In the end, this graphic design process definitely cannot be finished in five steps- it must require a great amount of work within those steps. However, by following them, you will confirm a correct flow of your efforts towards a result that both you and your client will appreciate.
